Who Am I?

“My Mother had a great deal of trouble with me, but I think she enjoyed it.”
Mark Twain

I’m Yvette, writer and mum to two boys of the baby and toddler variety who were made with love, science, hope and pure blind luck They are relentless, a bit feral and the best things I have ever made. Our little masterpieces.

Blow me down with a feather - I've only finally gone and written a new blog post! On parenting and social media: We see what people choose to show us, a perfect moment vs my messy reality... the outside of their life held up against the inside of mine...' Nobody has it all sewn up, remember that we all have stuff going on. Be happy, not super. Clicky link in profile. #parenting #pbloggers #parenting101 #love #family #baby #socialmedia #instadaily #motherhood #motherhoodthroughinstagram #instamood #reallife

I like sitting down and sleeping in 8 hour blocks, and dislike the fact that I never get to. I’m also not a fan of preachiness and those pretending to be perfect. (They are pretending, right?)

I write about being a mother and identity, as well as a fair bit of funny nonsense on life with young children. I am completely over attempting to be it all, so you won’t get any smugness, fakery or err, useful knowledge on this blog.

But if you need reassurance that getting bugger all done with a baby around is normal, or fancy pondering the extraordinary ordinariness of motherhood please crack open the biscuits and pull up a chair because you’re in the right place.

You can join me on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram but, you know, no pressure. I won’t be waiting around for you humming a lonely little tune while I do, or anything.

Ahem.
